+OpenCL.dll Error With i1Profiler 3.1.1 on WindowsThere have been a number of X-Rite customers reporting an “OpenCL.dll is missing…” error after installing i1Profiler 3.1.1 (and i1Profiler will not open). Updating the video card drivers has resolved almost all of these customers so far. The suggested resolutions to try and the order in which to try them are below. If #1 fails to resolve, try #2. If #2 fails, try #3…and so on.
- Go to Device Manager, right-click the Display Adapter driver, and update the driver by searching automatically. Reboot the PC, and try opening i1Profiler.
- Copy the appropriate OpenCL.dll file from another PC (System32 folder for 32-bit and SysWOW64 folder for 64-bit) to the appropriate folder on the customer’s PC (System32 for 32-bit and SysWOW64 for 64-bit). Reboot the PC, and try opening i1Profiler.
- After saving the OpenCL.dll to the appropriate folder on the troublesome PC, reinstall i1Profiler 3.1.1 from a fresh download while right-clicking on the “i1ProfilerSetup.exe” and choose “Run as administrator”. It would be wise to shut down all antivirus and firewalls when installing. Reboot the PC, and try opening i1Profiler.
- If steps 1, 2, & 3 fail to resolve this, go to Programs & Features, uninstall i1Profiler 3.1.1, and then download and install i1Profiler 3.0.0 while running the “i1ProfilerSetup.exe” as administrator as in step #3. Reboot the PC, and try opening i1Profiler. It should open without the DLL error. If reminded to update i1Profiler after opening, choose “Skip this version” to stay at v.3.0.0.
