+Software or Profiling will not launch on Mac OS X We have had some users report that they are not able to launch their ColorChecker Passport or ColorMunki software on their Macs. ColorMunki Design users that have this issue will be able to open the application to the home screen (palettes) but will not be able to open the display or printer profiling functions. This is a known issue within the user interface framework that runs in conjunction with our software, and has been reported to the appropriate development teams. In the meantime, you can continue to use your X-Rite products by creating a new user account with administrative rights. (If you are unsure of the steps required to create a new user, please follow these instructions from Apple.)
Please note, if you are creating a display profile under a different user with your ColorMunki, you will need to copy the profile into your normal user account > Library > Colorsync > Profiles. Then when you log in as your normal user, go to System Preferences > Displays > Color and assign the profile you created as the default profile.
*If creating a new user with administrative rights does not fully resolve this issue for you, you may achieve better results by logging in as the root user on your Mac. For instructions on enabling and using the root user in Snow Leopard, please review this information from Apple.
**NOTE: For ColorMunki Design users that are unable to launch the profiling wizards on their Mac computer, there could be a much simpler workaround:
Navigate to MacHD > Library > Application Support > ColorMunki > Design > Tools and double-click to the icon 'Profile My Display & Projector' respectively 'Profile My Printer'. The appropriate wizards should launch and the profiling procedures can be performed.
For quick access in the future, you might want to create an alias of both applications and put them on your desktop or into the Mac's dock.
